In his own inimitable fashion, Bunyan might have said something similar about the “thread” of Genesis 1:26–28. If one pulls carefully on this thread, the whole message of the Bible will unfold. The passage tells us that God made man in His image to have mankind reign with Him over His earthly kingdom. In some way, everything in the Bible relates to this profound statement of God’s design of man and His plan for man. We are tempted to say that the fall of man negated the promise of this passage. But
